You get the option to set the difficulty level of CAPTCHA challenges thrown to the end-users. This configuration can be done from the Bot Manager portal.

There are 3 different CAPTCHA difficulty settings that you can configure for Bad Bots on your site :

1. Basic :  The end user gets a CAPTCHA challenge that is easy to resolve without any complex iterations.

2. Advanced : The end user gets a CAPTCHA challenge that might be easy to resolve or it might have few more iterations with varied difficulty.

3. Adaptive : The end user gets a CAPTCHA challenge that might be easy to resolve or it might also have several iterations (more than that of 'Advanced' setting) of challenges with varied difficulty. The challenge difficulty is adaptive with respect to the behavior of the end user (scoring based analysis) who attempts to resolve the CAPTCHA challenge.  If bad actor fails to resolve the CAPTCHA Challenge at first attempt, he will be getting more iterations to bypass the exercise to gain access to the requested resource.

Note: We recommend 'Basic' setting for Gen 1 & Gen 2 bots and 'Advanced' or 'Adaptive' to Gen 3 & Gen 4 bots.
